Pursuing a Doctorate at TH Wildau

For years, TH Wildau has been among Germany’s research-intensive universities of applied sciences (UAS), as reflected, among other things, in consistently high levels of external funding and a large number of published research papers. Its research profile encompasses both basic and applied research. A regional focus, socially relevant solutions, and the transfer of knowledge and technology are typically areas of particular emphasis.

In particular, the supervision of doctoral candidates is an essential component of its research activities. TH Wildau aims to further strengthen the outstanding training of researchers in the early stages of their careers.

A doctoral dissertation represents an independent research contribution that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the respective field. The associated doctoral degree is earned through a written doctoral dissertation and an oral examination. Researchers in the early stages of their careers thus qualify for further career paths within or outside academia.

A prerequisite for beginning a doctoral project is the successful completion of a university degree (e.g., a master’s degree or comparable qualifications). At TH Wildau, there are currently two options for pursuing a doctorate: a collaborative doctoral program with a university or a doctoral program within the Graduate school of Brandenburg’s Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS).

TH Wildau provides systematic and structured support for doctoral candidates and has established the “TH Wildau Graduate College” for this purpose. All doctoral candidates at TH Wildau, as well as those interested in pursuing a doctorate, have a central contact point here and benefit from interdisciplinary support.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding doctoral studies at TH Wildau! You are also welcome to join the mailing list for prospective doctoral candidates and current doctoral students at TH Wildau.
