We support you in protecting and effectively commercializing your inventions. Intellectual property rights are an important measure of the quality and performance of our academic institution. To this end, TH Wildau has defined B B clear guidelines in its Intellectual Property and Commercialization Strategy for handling inventions, intellectual property rights, and their commercial exploitation. As a member of the university community, please feel free to take advantage of our comprehensive range of advisory and informational services.
Our service offers comprehensive advice and support in all areas related to “intellectual property rights”:
- Assistance with filing invention disclosures
- Support with patent searches and conducting patent searches
- Evaluation of an invention’s patentability
- Coordination and involvement in the patenting and commercialization of inventions
- Coordination and assistance with negotiations regarding intellectual property exploitation agreements, including for spin-offs
- Clarification of intellectual property issues related to software development
- Advice on intellectual property provisions in contracts and on addressing intellectual property aspects in grant applications
In addition to patents and utility models, we cover a wide range of intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, and designs. To this end, we work closely with patent attorneys, lawyers, and licensing agencies. - Can’t find your invention in any database?
- Then you should file an invention disclosure immediately!
If you are staff at TH Wildau and have developed a technical solution or arrived at new research findings, and your search has yielded no results, please contact us.
We ask that you treat your findings as confidential for the time being. Your invention disclosure will be reviewed and evaluated. If appropriate, an application for intellectual property protection will be filed. Please consult with us regarding any planned publications (such as presentations, posters, etc.) before filing an application for intellectual property rights. In the text of the law on employee inventions, you can find detailed information about your rights and obligations (including the obligation to report) in connection with inventions made in the public sector.
The Process for Filing an Invention DisclosureOpen areaClose area
- Please fill out the invention disclosure form in its entirety and submit the signed form to us. You will then receive a confirmation of receipt informing you of the next steps.
- Within two months, your invention disclosure will be reviewed for completeness. If it is incomplete according to the Employee Invention Act, we will be happy to help you complete it.
- If TH Wildau does not claim your invention, it will be released to you no later than four months after submission of a complete invention disclosure form.
- The invention is deemed to have been claimed if it is not released within the specified period. In this case, TH Wildau undertakes to file a patent or utility model application for the invention in a timely manner.
After filing the application, we will publish your invention as a technology offering in order to market it. Learn more about our current technology offerings here.
