TH Wildau – working together to create a society worth living in
We learn, conduct research and work on a modern campus that consistently combines technology and management in order to actively shape social development. This self-image shapes our teaching, learning, research and collaboration.
As an open and networked university of applied sciences, we see ourselves as a place / scope for innovation:
Here, students, lecturers, employees, researchers, companies and public partners work together on an equal footing to find solutions for a liveable and sustainable future – practical, value-oriented and forward-looking.
Education for the future – developing skills for tomorrow
Specialist knowledge and the ability to work in a solution-oriented, networked and globally oriented manner are the building blocks for our future. We therefore promote those skills that enable responsible and forward-looking participation in shaping society. Creativity, teamwork and the courage to embrace change are central building blocks in this regard.
Our degree programmes combine scientific fundamentals with practical application and specifically prepare students to address current social challenges.
Thematic scopes with social relevance
Our innovative learning spaces and concepts (labs and learning factories), which have already won multiple awards, offer students, lecturers, researchers and industry partners the opportunity to work on current issues of the future in an interdisciplinary manner.
We will systematically expand these experiential spaces into thematic scopes for learning and research. In doing so, we aim to spark curiosity, enable playful experimentation and promote innovative and ethically reflective research processes – designed to be practical, interdisciplinary and co-creative.
We have defined three socially relevant focus areas to which we contribute solutions:
Thinking up and developing new ways of getting around – sustainable, connected, inclusive.
A testing ground for digital, transparent and citizen-oriented administration.
Sustainable value(s) creation:
Developing and testing social and ecological innovations in realistic contexts.
Digitalisation: user-centred and future-oriented
We see digitalisation as the key to simplifying and accelerating processes – with the aim of making digital solutions simple, accessible and effective for students, employees and partners. We consistently align processes with user needs: service-oriented, efficient and transparent.
As a defining cross-cutting theme, digitalisation is firmly anchored in our research, teaching and transfer activities. We teach digital and AI skills in a practical, ethically reflective and socially relevant manner. With innovative research and transfer projects, we contribute to responsible digital transformation in the region.
Personal, diverse, well connected
As a campus university with a personal atmosphere, we combine learning, living and working into a harmonious whole. We create favourable conditions for studying and careers – with flexible study formats, individual counselling, health services, childcare and measures to improve the compatibility of studying, work and family life.
Our university thrives on diversity – in terms of origin, perspectives and educational paths. We encourage individual study paths, support talented students from different backgrounds and promote a community characterised by openness, respect and participation.
Our goal: degree programmes that gear towards real life and allow students to develop their personal potential.
Internationally networked – locally committed
With students, lecturers and researchers from over 60 nations, TH Wildau is part of a global network. International perspectives enrich our thinking and actions – in teaching, research and campus life.
At the same time, we are firmly anchored in Brandenburg through close cooperation with companies, administrations, civil society actors and political institutions. Internationalisation and local responsibility go hand in hand at our university.
