Study objectives
The areas of telecommunications and information technology are seeing increasing demand for highly qualified individuals both in Germany and internationally. It is a common complaint from businesses that graduates of traditional degree programmes have spent too long studying, the contents of their courses lack enough practical relevance and that they are not introduced to the actual conditions and requirements of working life.
On the one hand, graduates of the Telematics master’s degree programme acquire an in-depth knowledge of the technologies and networked solutions used in information and telecommunication infrastructure and, on the other hand, the focus lies on relaying up-to-date, market-oriented and practical knowledge from various subject areas of telematics. These specialist competencies are supplemented by the conveyance of decision-making skills in the IT-related establishment and implementation of industrial and economic processes as well as business and social leadership abilities.

Admission requirements and applicationOpen areaClose area
General admission requirements
Specific admission requirements
(1) A vocational first degree comprising at least 180 credit points (CP).
(2) Language skills: To be admitted to this degree programme, overseas applicants must possess sufficient German language skills. This may be demonstrated with an overall grade of DSH-2 or better from the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für Hochschulen (DSH) language exam.
(3) Acceptance onto this degree programme requires completion of a first degree in a closely related field (e.g. information technology, communication technology, automation technology, traffic logistics), the study contents of which can be shown to be comparable to the bachelor’s degree programme in Telematics at TH Wildau. If these requirements are not met, then students may be admitted on a case-by-case basis with support provided. The final decision lies with the Examinations Board.
(4) In accordance with the Regulations of the TH Wildau for the selection of students for a degree programme with restricted admission criteria, a motivation letter will also be required as an admission requirement (in the case of restricted degree programme), in which the applicant describes his/her motivation for the selected degree programme or why it appeals so strongly. This motivation letter must be submitted on time with the other application documentation.
