Study objectives

Building upon solid scientific and engineering principles, students are trained in the complexly linked fields of engineering. This gives students the opportunity to find work in:

  • Product and tool development and design
  • Selection and application of production methods
  • Quality assurance
  • Production system planning and operation
  • Development of new technologies based on the latest discoveries from fundamental and applied research
  • Technical consulting and support, customer service, servicing and maintenance

Teaching has a practical focus and provides an excellent career foundation. Elective modules give this degree programme flexibility.

Graduates will be able to solve a wide range of problems efficiently. They achieve this through the use of interdisciplinary working, the combination of classical engineering specialisms with high-tech specialisms as well as the integration of computer and simulation technology in complex fields. Independence, holistic thinking in technical and business contexts, teamwork abilities and social skills also play a key role here.
