Engineering and Natural Sciences

Study objectives

The Industrial Engineering degree programme combines engineering and the natural sciences along with economics to give graduates an integrated approach to linking business roles with technical roles.

The academic element of the engineering sciences is directly linked to the business management aspects of the field. This puts industrial engineers in a position to develop technical solutions using an in-depth knowledge of economic contexts, enabling them to take the relationship between business and technology into account.

The qualification objectives of the (basic) industrial engineering degree programme are expanded in the practice-integrated dual degree programme through a high proportion of practical, application-oriented work. In the lecture-free periods, practical transfer modules (practical phases) are planned with various fields of activities from the industrial engineering discipline. They serve to deal with real problems and procedures from practice and offer a direct link between the previously acquired theoretical knowledge base and its practical application. The practice-integrated dual study programme is characterized by the interlinking of two learning locations between the TH Wildau (Technical University of Applied Sciences) and the cooperating practice partner.

We recommend checking in good time as to whether it is useful for you to participate in study preparation courses (in German) prior to commencing your studies. Online tests in the subjects of mathematics, physics, information technology and technical mechanics will help you come to a decision. Prior knowledge in these subjects is an important basis for various study modules and therefore necessary for the success of your studies in light of past experience.
