MHFA stands for Mental Health First Aid. The programme was originally developed in Australia and has now been established in over 25 countries worldwide. Its aim is to enable people to recognise mental health problems at an early stage, respond appropriately and know where to find professional help. Similar to first aid training, but specifically focused on mental health crises and mental health.

MHFA first aiders are trained and know:

  • How to sensitively approach people in situations of mental distress and how to provide initial support confidentially.
  • How to refer them to professional support services.

For which problems can I contact an MHFA first aider?

There is no mental health crisis which is too small to seek support. The first aiders at TH Wildau are happy to help.
