Objectives and BasisOpen areaClose area
The university plans to create more communicative and collaborative spaces for interaction and learning to support future-oriented teaching. Designed to meet the needs of specific target groups—including students, staff, and external visitors (ages approximately 20–70)—these spaces will offer an unlimited variety of usage formats.
One reason for this functional expansion is the reform of learning and teaching spaces within the higher education landscape. This process of increasing flexibility is to be initiated in a timely manner at TH Wildau, as innovative concepts such as co-creation and co-innovation have been defined as part of a cross-university development plan to promote knowledge and technology transfer and foster a culture of innovation.
Modular layout and modern furnishingsOpen areaClose area
The spaces will undergo an optimization of their existing infrastructure and are intended to be multifunctional in the long term. The goal is to move away from traditional lecture-style instruction and toward an unlimited variety of learning formats. These will be made possible through the use of digital and analog media applications that are appropriate for the times and teaching methods. However, traditional lecture-style instruction will still be possible in these spaces. The selection criteria for the furniture included, among other things, ease of use, stackable storage, and sustainable production.
Functions of the RoomsOpen areaClose area
Thanks to the new furniture, the rooms are already well-suited for a wide variety of teaching formats: traditional teaching sessions (lectures, small-group or individual work), student study groups, work-related presentations and meetings, or new forms of collaboration. They offer a high degree of flexibility, which is being further optimized through multi-stage evaluation and internship periods to ensure that the rooms’ full potential is realized.

Loading and Unloading the Transport Carts | Empty Room
Please make sure the transport carts do not slip during loading and unloading. For safety reasons, always work in pairs when loading and unloading tables onto the stacking carts. Stack a maximum of 20 tables and 32 chairs on the carts provided for this purpose.
Thanks to the transport carts, the rooms can be completely cleared out, giving you a large open space to work with. If the stacking carts reach their maximum capacity, ask about additional options or stack the furniture neatly along the back wall of the room.
Store the furniture freestanding in the room
If you do not have any transport carts available, the furniture can also be stacked freestanding. Stack no more than five tables on top of each other. Stack only as many chairs on top of each other as will prevent the stack from tipping over.
The writing tray…
– can be folded up and down
– can be adjusted for depth
– is suitable for both left- and right-handed users
– and can be easily removed
Tables and Chairs by Casala
Sustainability
Both the Class table and the Curvy chair can be completely recycled at the end of their life cycles, and their metal frames are chrome-plated using the environmentally friendly Chrom 3 process. 58% of the newly purchased chairs (in total) are made from renewable raw materials (wood), and 42% of the chairs are made from plastic. Of these, 50% are already made from 100% recycled plastic.
Transport Carts and Storage
The tables and chairs are space-saving and can be stacked quickly. This allows for quick reconfiguration of the rooms.
Approximately 32 chairs can be stacked on top of each other on a transport cart. The tables can be nested up to five times as freestanding units, and 20 tables can be stored on a stacking cart.
Extras
A writing tray can also be attached to the chairs. These are available in two versions (for both left- and right-handed users). The writing tray can be folded up and down, is depth-adjustable, and can be easily removed by simply unclipping it.
The single-seat tables can be linked together by simply nesting them inside one another.
