Forrest Bathing

Forest bathing was invented in Japan and refers to a consciously experienced, relaxing stay in the forest. In other words, "bathing" in the atmosphere of the forest.
Scientists have proven through various studies that spending time in the forest is very beneficial to our health. Breathing the essential oils of the trees into the air strengthens our immune system. Anxiety, depression and anger decrease, stress hormones are reduced and vitality increases. This is why forest bathing has become a recognized stress management method in Japan and is even promoted by the health care system there.

Depending on the weather, moon phase and group dynamics, the course will be intuitive. It will include a combination of meditative sequences and methods in walking, standing, sitting and/or lying down with a special focus on sensory awareness.
Please bring: your own sitting/lying surface such as a yoga mat and/or large towel. In case of rain the event will also take place. In that case please choose a rainproof mat or a folding chair if you don't want to sit on the mat. Also bring an umbrella and weatherproof clothing. The sounds and smells of rain are especially soothing, as we typically do not experience such things in our everyday lives.
