In this year's StudyCheck Award university ranking, the TH Wildau took third place in the category of universities with fewer than 5,000 students, making it the only university in the state of Brandenburg to be represented in the top 10. The ranking of the universities is based on the evaluation and recommendation rate of students and graduates.

The independent evaluation portalwww.studycheck.de is one of the largest student databases in Germany and offers prospective students valuable insights and over 400,000 testimonials from students and graduates. Here they can find important information about the course content, programme structure and courses at the individual colleges and universities. Every year, the portal honours the most popular colleges and universities in Germany with the StudyCheck Award, an independent university ranking. In addition to an overall ranking, this also includes the Category Award, in which the colleges and universities are divided into three categories - under 5,000 students, between 5,000 and 15,000 students and over 15,000 students.

Wildau University of Applied Sciences (TH Wildau) came third in the small university category this year, having already secured 9th place in 2022. This makes it the only university in Brandenburg among the ten most popular universities with fewer than 5,000 students.

How are the results of the ranking determined?

With its score, which is calculated from the factors star rating and recommendation rate with a maximum of five points each, the TH Wildau can keep up with the colleges and universities in the top 10 of the ranking. A total of 96 per cent of students and graduates who submitted a rating would recommend Wildau University of Applied Sciences to others. In terms of the criteria of facilities, library, digital studies, lecturers, courses, organisation and course content, TH Wildau received 4.2 out of 5 possible stars.

"It is great that the TH Wildau was able to improve on its already very good result from 2022 and is even among the top 3 most popular 'small' universities (with fewer than 5,000 students) in Germany this year. We certainly see this as confirmation that all our activities in terms of updating the range of courses on offer, improving processes and public image have worked. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this. Above all, however, this result is a motivation to continue to jointly increase the attractiveness of our study and research location in accordance with our mission statement," emphasises Prof. Ulrike Tippe, President of TH Wildau.

"The degree programme is a lot of fun because the lecturers are very passionate about what they teach, everything is very well planned and you are supported in everything. There are lots of offers to help you with your studies and the lecturers are very attentive when you ask questions," said a student on the Bachelor's degree programme in Transport Systems Engineering at TH Wildau at the end of 2022 as part of his assessment.
