Prof. Ulrike Tippe, President of the Wildau University of Applied Sciences (TH Wildau), wishes all students and employees a relaxing summer and looks forward to hopefully seeing you again soon on campus.

"The examination period is drawing to a close, and once again we have experienced a semester that was strongly influenced by the Corona pandemic and in which we were all particularly challenged. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your commitment to your work, to learning, teaching, and research. I very much hope that you will have the opportunity to rest and relax a little in the coming weeks. This is good and very, very important!

With regard to the coming winter semester, all universities are currently preparing to systematically enable more attendance in all areas. At TH Wildau, amongst other things the Department of Studies and Learning is currently preparing a structured programme for the "return to university" for students in order to prepare and accompany them in the best possible way for the coming winter semester.

Regardless of this, the extent to which attendance is actually possible naturally depends on many factors. A large and important role in this context is played by the vaccination rate achieved by then: As you have certainly experienced in recent weeks and months, we have done a lot on the part of the university to make vaccination offers in our region as usable as possible for all of you. To our great delight, these offers have been very well received. Currently, the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture is also working on organising mobile vaccination offers on site at the universities and/or in the halls of residence at the beginning of the winter semester in order to make even more people a low-threshold vaccination offer, and we very much support this initiative. The more students and staff get vaccinated, the safer we will be able to offer attendance programmes, and the more will be possible in this regard in the coming months. The "three g's" – geimpft, getestet, genesen (vaccinated, tested, recovered) – will certainly accompany us in the near future and significantly influence our university operations.

I wish you a relaxing summer and look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon on our campus. Stay healthy!"
