Celebrating diversity - TH Wildau invites to the International Afternoon on 16 May 2024
TH Wildau will be presenting itself internationally on campus on 16 May 2024. Together with the university's International Office, students and employees will introduce interested visitors to their home countries and present culinary specialities, traditional items and information material. Lecturers from partner universities ofTH Wildau, who are guests in Wildau as part of the 3rd Wildau International Week, will also be present.
The week from 13 to 17 May 2024 at Technische Hochschule Wildau - Technical University of Applied Sciences (TH Wildau) is all about internationality. As part of the 3rd Wildau International Week, numerous lecturers from partner universities from Europe and other countries around the world will visit the university to get to know TH Wildau and the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region. The programme includes guest lectures in various degree programmes at TH Wildau, workshops on the German language and culture, as well as excursions and information events for students interested in studying abroad.
International afternoon on 16 May 2024, from 3 p.m.
With around 20 per cent international students from more than 60 different countries, TH Wildau is a place of diversity and multiculturalism. The members of the Centre for International Affairs would like to celebrate this diversity at the International Afternoon. The afternoon starts at 3 p.m. with presentations about the partner universities that are visiting TH Wildau as part of the Wildau International Week. The country tables will open at 4 p.m., where students and staff from around 15 countries and regions will present their home countries. There will be traditional recipes and delicacies, language and symbols, typical dances, instruments, music and rhythms, traditional clothing and much more. Staff from the International Office will also provide information about international study programmes and services. Interested citizens are also cordially invited.
„We now organise our International Afternoon once a semester and are thrilled every time with the positive dynamic this event brings. The attendees get to talk to each other, can embark on a culinary journey around the world and now people get up and dance at almost every International Afternoon - regardless of language barriers and cultural differences - it's just great and definitely worth a visit,“ says Carolina Winkler, long-time organiser of the International Afternoon at TH Wildau.
