Special regulations and precautions

What exactly are the regulations?Open areaClose area

  • In the buildings of the TH Wildau (corridors, foyers), medical face masks, e.g. OP masks or FFP2 masks, must be worn in accordance with the currently valid handling regulations of the state of Brandenburg.
  • Disinfectant is provided for hands or for cleaning tables independently.
  • Sufficient ventilation is provided for rooms with automatic ventilation systems. For all other rooms, "shock ventilation" must take place after approx. 45 minutes.
  • The room planning takes into account the applicable distance regulations. You can find them here: [LINK]
  • Before and after examinations, all participants are requested to avoid forming groups and to enter and leave the campus as quickly as possible.
  • The contact tracing web app is mandatory. If someone enters a room, they must log into the web app. Further information can be found here: https://en.th-wildau.de/contact-tracing

Is there anything that needs to be taken into account when occupying the seats?Open areaClose area

When occupying the seats, please start with the last row and occupy the seats one after the other "from the back to the front" in order to avoid unnecessary encounters. We ask the examiners to carefully observe and influence compliance with this procedure.

Please make sure that you only use the numbered seats in the lecture rooms with fixed seating. In the examination rooms with loose seating, the number of seats corresponds to the maximum possible occupancy. Please do not change the existing furniture. If there are more people in the examination rooms than permitted, the examination must be cancelled.

Is eating and drinking allowed during the exam?Open areaClose area

Yes, both are possible without any problems. Just make sure that you do not disturb your fellow students.

Are toilet visits allowed during the exam?Open areaClose area

Of course. However, please remember that even if you have to go to the toilet, the distance of 1.5 m to other people must be maintained and you must put your mask back on if necessary.

What happens in case of breaches of hygiene standards?Open areaClose area

Compliance with hygiene standards during the audit is the responsibility of the audit supervisor and is checked regularly on a random basis.

The examination supervisor is obliged to pay attention to compliance and to point out corresponding violations in each individual case. Pursuant to decree P06-2020, domiciliary rights are transferred to the examination supervisor in this situation. Thus, in the case of violations that are not remedied despite being pointed out, they have the right to exclude students from the examination.

If this exclusion is not followed, the examination invigilator can call the Chancellor Thomas Lehne on 0151 42653149 to request assistance from the President or a representative from the Executive Committee appointed by her.

Conversely, in the case that students discover violations of the hygiene standards by the examination supervisor and the latter does not remedy the violation even after being informed by the students, the students also have the possibility of contacting the above-mentioned telephone number. They will then also receive on-site support from the President or a representative from the Executive Committee appointed by her.

It is to be hoped that the above-mentioned scenarios, which in extreme cases can also lead to the termination of the examination, do not occur. That is why it is so important that all those involved (students and examination invigilators) look out for each other's compliance with the rules. In doing so, you all make a decisive contribution to managing the situation, which is stressful for all students, appropriately and as safely as possible.

Please behave in solidarity and responsibly.

May students or teachers be informed of missing masks?Open areaClose area

Yes. In the case of violations that cannot be clarified directly, also approach the Dean of the respective department. There must also be no disadvantages if, for example, students point this out to examiners.

Does the TH Wildau provide medical masks?Open areaClose area

Yes, the blue and white surgical masks as well as some FFP2 masks can be picked up by students at the porter's office, house 13, to take their exams. The Dean's offices also have a basic supply of OP masks.

A doctor's certificate exempts me from the mask requirement. May I participate?Open areaClose area

Yes, you may. However, please note the following procedure:

  • Report to the Dean's office responsible for you at least 3 working days before the exam.
  • The Dean's office will try to organise a separate room where you can write the exam separately and supervised.

Hygiene concept & hygiene measures

Where can I find the hygiene concept of TH Wildau?Open areaClose area

You can find the hygiene concept here: CLICK. It is also linked in the right column of the Corona website.

What hygiene standards apply at TH Wildau?Open areaClose area

The following hygiene standards apply at TH Wildau:

  • Minimum distance between individuals of 1.5 m. In case minimum distance cannot be guaranteed due to the size of rooms or the kind of work undertaken, then a case-by-case assessment as to the feasibility of higher standards of protection must be undertaken. Any such requirements for higher standards must be reported via the deans to the executive university management. The university management will endeavour to support such applications. Should the requirements reported be impossible to meet, however, due to delivery shortages, then the class or examination in question may not be conducted on site and must be rescheduled to a later date.
  • The university will make disinfectants available.
  • Within the buildings of the university, the wearing of a medical mask (surgical or FFP2 mask) is mandatory. In offices and laboratories used by a defined group of persons, the wearing of a mouth-and-nose protector may be dispensed with, provided that the minimum distance of 1.5 m between staff members is maintained and regular ventilation is provided.

  • In classroom training the mask requirement for classroom events in closed rooms (courses and examinations) does not apply as soon as the students have taken their fixed seat. If they leave their fixed seat, the mask must be put back on.

The hygiene concept of TH Wildau lists all measures taken at the university and can also be downloaded from the general Corona page.

Which hygiene measures should I take in general?Open areaClose area

  • Basically, it remains essential that we all adhere to the applicable distance and hygiene rules.
    • Distance and hygiene rules
Distance - at least 1.5 m, also outside the buildings
Hygiene rules - wash hands regularly with soap for at least 20 seconds and follow cough and sneeze etiquette
Mask - wear a medical mask when on campus. This has to be a surgical or FFP2 mask.
Ventilate - regularly ventilate all type of room as best you can: offices, seminar rooms, lecture theatres etc.
App - install the federal government's Corona warning app on a voluntary basis. It enables contact tracing and thereby to break contact chains.

Mandatory masking & Contact tracing

How is contact tracing at TH Wildau regulated?Open areaClose area

TH Wildau introduced a system developed in-house for contact tracing in case of a SARS-Cov2 infection: the "Web-App für contact tracing".

All premises of TH Wildau will be successively equipped with QR codes.

The QR codes must be scanned with a mobile device before entering the premises. Those who do not have a mobile device or do not wish to use one can also maintain the data manually via the icampus.th-wildau.de/kontaktnachverfolgung (there is currently no English version of the web app available).website on any other device with Internet access before or after entering the premises.

Further information on the web app is available at: https://en.th-wildau.de/contact-tracing

Mandatory maskingOpen areaClose area

As a general rule: In all other premises of the TH (corrodirs, foyers etc.), the wearing of a medical face mask (OP mask or FFP2 mask) is mandatory!

The principle applies that staff (members) should not be in the position of having to violate the distance rules in their offices or laboratories. In this sense, it is strongly recommended to use the possibilities of the home office to reduce the occupancy of the premises accordingly. If the distance rules cannot be complied with due to an urgent need for higher occupancy of the premises or the nature of the activities, compensation through additional protective measures must be examined in individual cases (e.g. application for Plexiglas panes).

Offices and laboratories

In offices and laboratories used by a clearly defined group of people, the wearing of nasal masks can be dispensed with, provided that the minimum distance between staff (members) of 1.5 m is maintained and regular ventilation is ensured.

Classroom (teaching) events

The mask requirement also applies to classroom events (courses and examinations).

For tested, fully vaccinated and recovered: Do they also have to wear a mask?Open areaClose area

Yes, the current guidelines on the obligation to wear a mask and the distance requirement are still valid for these groups of people.
