Grants for Congress Attendances for International Librarians
Library professionals and information / documentation centre staff, who are actively integrated into the library systems of their home countries, are eligible to apply for financial support by BI-International (BII).
Financing is available for the attendance of professional events (congresses, conferences) in Germany, related to librarianship. The IFLA WLIC Preconference Satellite Meeting is such a professional event. German citizens are not eligible for financing. The application should be made as early as possible, and should be submitted at least six weeks prior to travelling. The grant application is submitted via the online form on the BI-International website.

Tegel Airport (TXL) is situated in the north of Berlin. It is approx. 50 kilometers away from Technische Hochschule Wildau — University of Applied Sciences.
By public transportation
Bus stops are located right outside Terminal A and B. A one-way trip from Tegel Airport to Technische Hochschule Wildau — University of Applied Sciences costs 3,40 € if you choose "Einzelfahrausweis Berlin ABC" and takes approx. 80 minutes.
- Bus TXL S+U Alexanderplatz via Hauptbahnhof; change at S+U Berlin Hauptbahnhof to RE2 Cottbus Hauptbahnhof (platform 12); change at S Königs Wusterhausen Bhf to S46 Westend (platform 2); get off at S Wildau

By taxi
The taxi ranks at Tegel Airport can be found in the inner ring of Terminal A at Gates 6–9 and outside Terminal C and E. During rush hour, service staff will be available at the taxi ranks outside the terminals. These will be recognisable by the 'Taxi Service' on their uniforms. Passengers requiring a special taxi, e.g. for the disabled or a maxi cab, can ask a local member of staff for assistance in requesting one from the rank.
Standard fares apply to all Berlin taxi drivers. In addition to distance-based fares, the following surcharges may apply:
- €1.50 per person in maxi cabs seating five or more
- €1 for bulky items of luggage
- €1.50 for non-cash payments, e.g. by EC or credit card
- €0.50 for a single journey from Berlin Tegel Airport
