CO₂e Calculator of TH Wildau

Compare the climate impact of different modes of transport – helpful for planning your business trips or vacation travel.

The CO₂e values (carbon dioxide equivalents) shown below are average values per person and route.*

To present the climate impact in a uniform manner, the CO₂e values include not only CO₂, but also other climate-relevant gases such as methane (CH₄) and nitrous oxide (N₂O).

For the “car” mode of transport, you can specify the number of passengers and select the type of engine and mileage. 

Enter the start and destination for your itinerary using the drop-down menu. It is not possible to specify street names.

HOW DOES THE EMISSIONS-CALCULATOR WORK?

* Emissions are calculated taking into account the entire life cycle of the respective means of transport, including emissions generated during manufacture and disposal.

If a car is used for the itinerary, the values for production, disposal, and distance travelled can be adjusted using the input mask. Default: 200,000 km over 10 years.

The emissions value for public transportation takes into account an average value of possible means of transportation, including local transportation (bus, tram, subway, regional train, etc.).

The results are approximate values based on average data and are provided for guidance purposes only. Details on the calculation methods and data sources are documented in the PDF.
