This engagement may take place within the university (e.g. in student councils, committees or the TH Wildau Buddy Programme) or in social services, politics, environmental protection, sports, culture or other areas. Work as a tutor is also considered relevant engagement.
Support provided within the family or neighbourhood is generally not regarded as exceptional social engagement, unless it falls outside the scope of normal mutual support. - 30% Academic Achievement:
This category includes not only grade average, but also voluntary professional development, language and other supplementary courses (provided they are not mandatory components of the degree programme), participation in working groups and other activities through which applicants can expand their academic knowledge. - 30% Personal Circumstances:
This includes employment, family responsibilities (e.g. caring for children or family members), personal illnesses or disabilities, and one’s own background as a migrant or refugee.
5. Selection procedure
The Scholarship Selection Committee selects the scholarship recipients from among the eligible applications by simple majority vote, based on the above criteria.
