September 10, 2026 | Designing “joyful” career development programs

Drawing on his experience as head of the Career Service at TH Wildau, Ray Trautwein (pictured left) was a guest speaker at “Queering Organizations: Wild Thinking for Turbulent Times,” a workshop organized by Metaplan® and mglw., which provide strategic consulting and support to organizations undergoing change processes. The goal of the event was to combine organizational sociology with queer theory in order to break down established patterns of thought and action in organizational design. To this end, Ray Trautwein, together with Luisa Bergander (pictured on the right) from mglw., designed a “Joyful Outro” that explored, among other things, the concept of “Queer Joy” and the potential of drag to teach career-enhancing skills—all taking place at St. Pauli Church.

July 14, 2026 | “Career. Application. Week.” during the summer semester of 2026

From July 13 to 17, 2026, the “Career. Application. Week.” took place once again, organized by TH Wildau in cooperation with Wirtschaftsförderung Land Brandenburg GmbH (WFBB) and Techniker Krankenkasse. During this week, we offered daily hybrid workshops in both German and English, in which career coaches and company representatives provided important tips on the job application process: While Dr. Markus Karbaum (see photo), for example, explained the importance of ATS in resumes, Fareen Shaikh spoke about LinkedIn and AI in the job application process. For the first time, there was also a company visit—specifically to M2-Instruments.

May 21, 2026 | “Airport Campus” — A Look Behind the Scenes at BER

Careers don’t just take shape in the classroom—that’s why we regularly highlight events that connect students with companies, exciting fields of work, and potential employers. One such event was the “Airport Campus” hosted by Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER): Twenty-six students from TH Wildau gained exciting insights into information security at an international airport at BER, solved tricky puzzles during the EXIT Game, and used the event as an opportunity to network. The day concluded on a high note with a visit to the observation deck at sunset (see photo) under the hashtag #BERconnects. Learn more on #THinsights.

May 19, 2026 | Empowerment Workshop on German Diversity Day

As part of the university-wide program for the 14th Diversity Day, the Career Service offered an English-language workshop on career-enhancing empowerment strategies. The workshop was led by Marilyn Nova White, also known as Marilyn Moustache: a performer and actor who has been addressing topics such as gender, background, and the body for about ten years. In the workshop “Empower Your Career: Bold Presence & Space-Taking for Every Body,” Marilyn helped participants develop a stronger presence, greater self-confidence, and better body language through creative exercises drawn from performance art and drag. The goal was to strengthen participants’ public presence for their studies, presentations, and everyday professional life.

January 1, 2026 | ESF Project “International Career Service” Kicks Off

The transition from college to the workforce is considered the most critical factor for the long-term integration of international students. At TH Wildau, the Career Service provides tailored support throughout this process. This support is now being specifically expanded through the ESF project “International Career Service”: The project serves as a strategic link between the university and the job market in Brandenburg. The goal is to effectively support efforts to secure a skilled workforce in the region. You can find more information about the project in #THinsights. December 9, 2025 | Don't Panic—How to Perform (Like a Drag King) at University?

In this online workshop, offered by the Diversity Office in cooperation with the Career Service at TH Wildau, Luka Özyürek (alias Caine Panik) shared his own journey from being an introverted student with social anxiety to becoming a drag king who thrives on stage—not in spite of, but because of these challenges. During the workshop, participants learned about the theoretical meaning of drag, but also had the opportunity to experience firsthand what drag can achieve (in the workplace and for one’s own career)—and, above all, how drag as an art form can foster resilience in everyday student and work life. The workshop’s motto was: anything goes, nothing is mandatory—let’s simply figure it out together.
