Focus on the appointment procedure
In the winter semester 2025/2026, Dr Markus Glöckner, a long-standing expert in higher education law with a special focus on appointment issues, provided insider knowledge for successful appointment procedures in three consecutive sessions. After a compact lecture section, each session was followed by a moderated discussion with room for questions from the audience.

About the speaker
Dr Markus Glöckner has been a legal advisor for 20 years and head of the administrative office responsible for appointment procedures at the University of Rostock for more than 10 years. He has also been lecturing on higher education law topics throughout Germany for 20 years - including at the Academy for Higher Education Law, EuroAcad GmbH and inn:öv. Since 2018, his focus has been on seminars on appointment procedures at universities and HAWs. In addition to general appointment law, his portfolio also includes special forms (such as junior professorships, tenure track, joint appointments) and special procedural situations (such as bias, cancellation of appointment procedures or competitor disputes).
He shared this knowledge in a compact, well-founded and directly applicable way in three parts of our Lunch & Learn series.
