Short-term teaching stays (STA)
As part of the Erasmus+ programme, teaching staff at TH Wildau have the opportunity to visit one of our partner universities for a short teaching stay and teach there.
In principle, the funding line is available to the following groups of people:
- University staff and lecturers with a teaching assignment at the TH Wildau
- Research assistants
- Doctoral students who are active in teaching
- Staff from foreign companies and organisations (can be invited to German universities for teaching purposes)
Requirements:
Currently, a teaching mobility can be funded at the TH Wildau if the following requirements are met:
- Valid Erasmus contract (incl. teaching mobility (STA)) between TH Wildau and the selected partner university
- Duration of at least 2 working days per stay
- Maximum duration of 14 working days per stay
- One travel day before and one travel day after the stay is eligible for funding
- Teaching load of at least 8 hours per week; the required number of hours is calculated proportionately for each additional day of stay beyond one week. Teaching mobility can be combined with attending workshops, conferences or job shadowing at the partner university. In the case of such combined stays (teaching and further education), the teaching load is at least 4 hours.
Staff Training MobilityOpen areaClose area
Academic staff and employees of TH Wildau in non-academic areas (e.g. university administration, university library, etc.) also have the opportunity to visit (partner) institutions abroad for training purposes as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
The formats are varied and can include, for example, workshops, language courses, work shadowing
The minimum duration for such activities is also 2 days. Due to the limited budget, the programme should not exceed a duration of 14 days if possible.
Funding of Erasmus+ staff mobilities (STA and/or STT)Open areaClose area
Erasmus+ staff mobilities at the TH Wildau are financed and invoiced according to the applicable Erasmus+ flat rates.
The individual support (flat rates per day) has been determined by the NA DAAD according to country groups.
Please note that these lump sums are paid for at least 2 days of your stay abroad. In many cases, this financial support can also be granted for additional days of your business trip, provided that a valid cost estimate is submitted (usually a business trip application with details of travel and accommodation costs abroad).
As far as travelling allowances are concerned, these are based on the distance in kilometres to the destination. If you predominantly use sustainable means of transport for your trip (e.g. train, bus or carpooling), you are entitled to a top-up for ‘Green Travel’ and additional funding days (1 - max. 4, depending on the duration of the trip and distance).
You are welcome to apply for this additional funding informally by means of a short declaration on your honour. The relevant tickets must be submitted as proof of the ‘green travel’ supplement applied for.
Below you will find an overview of the current funding rates for Erasmus+ staff mobilities with EU programme countries (KA131):
The Erasmus+ programme offers the following benefits:

- There is no insurance cover associated with a mobility grant from Erasmus+ funds. You must therefore ensure that you have sufficient insurance cover for the duration of your stay abroad.

In addition, it is possible to support university staff with special needs (e.g. disability (from GdB 20) or chronic illness with additional financial requirements) separately from Erasmus funds (real cost application to the NA DAAD). In such cases, please contact Dr Angelika Schubert directly with your request.
You can find the most important Erasmus+ co-operations which TH Wildau has agreed a STA or STT in addition to the student exchange (in most cases), as well as detailed information in the overview of partner universities.
The universities are responsible for selecting lecturers for short teaching placements at Erasmus+ partner universities abroad (STA1) and participants in training programmes. The following criteria are given special consideration:
- Priority will be given to mobility measures which, in addition to teaching at the host university (at least 8 hours of lectures in 5 days), are also linked to the development of new teaching materials and/or serve to expand and strengthen relations between the two universities and prepare future cooperation projects. A combination of teaching and continuing education (STA/STT) is also possible. In this case, the minimum teaching load at the partner university is 4 hours.
- A minimum period of 5 days is recommended in order to be able to make an effective contribution to the curriculum and academic life at the host university. However, shorter stays are also possible.
- Repeated funding of staff is generally possible (e.g. two trips to different partner universities), but priority should be given to staff who have not yet completed an Erasmus+ teaching or training visit.
