ServiceCenter

The project is developing a central contact point for all questions relating to studying. Students can get advice and benefit from new services and workshops.

German Version

The ‘ServiceCenter’ (Infopoint Student Counselling) project aims to establish a direct and personal first point of contact for new and existing advisory services at the university. In the form of a comprehensive ServiceCentre, the project supports all of the university's existing advisory and support services, for example in the areas of general student advisory services, studying with disabilities and application and enrolment. To this end, existing counselling and support services are bundled and expanded to include new counselling, service and workshop offerings.

The project also has the important task of addressing and supporting non-traditional students, those enrolled students who are demonstrably impaired in their studies due to visible or invisible impairments and people with an international background. The group of non-traditional students includes people from families with no previous academic experience as well as students with non-classical educational biographies.

The funding project is set to run for a period of three years in order to establish the developed programmes and formats at the university in the long term and to actively accompany and support the students before, during and after their studies. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

The following objectives have been defined for the project period from 2024 to 2027

  • Improving the academic success of students at Wildau University of Applied Sciences
  • Improved access to information, especially for students with non-traditional educational biographies or disabilities
  • Improved visibility and accessibility of counselling services
  • Quick and comprehensive accessibility on site, by email, telephone or video call
  • Pooling of counselling expertise
  • Raising awareness of diversity among university staff and the resulting needs for the academic success of all students
  • Expand collaboration with external cooperation partners
