Public Management

Public Management

Specialisation offers Business Administration (distance learning degree programme)

Public administration is an important player in economic life. It offers services, collects taxes, purchases goods and services and - last but not least - is an important employer. In this specialisation, students of business administration will be introduced to this economic actor. The aim is to get to know the main differences and similarities between private companies and the public sector; to understand who is the right contact for a company for which services and taxes; to develop a feeling for how public institutions ‘tick’ when it comes to awarding contracts and to learn that companies and institutions often have to overcome the same challenges when it comes to digitalising processes. Knowledge of business contexts in administration offers students the opportunity to reflect on the subject of business administration from a different perspective, to recognise funding and cooperation potential for companies and to understand social conditions in greater depth. In addition, students who have specialised knowledge of the functioning of administrative management as well as business management skills are offered a wide range of attractive career opportunities in public companies or core administrations.
