Human Resource Management
Specialisation offers from Business Administration
In the ‘Human Resource Management’ specialisation, the focus is on the role of a junior HR officer. In the ‘Human Resource Management’ (HRM) module, students deal, for example, with the basic principles of strategic HR work as well as the key operational topics of recruitment, equal treatment, performance management and health and safety in the workplace. In the Organisational Behaviour module, students reflect in depth on the key psychological constructs and theories for day-to-day HR work. This includes, for example, personal performance assessment, test batteries for personnel selection and work-life balance.
At the same time, students acquire fundamental knowledge in the two main, neighbouring subject areas. On the one hand, this is labour law, with insights into employment contracts, collective agreements and works constitution law. On the other hand, this includes economic policy, in which topics relating to the labour market, collective bargaining and regulatory policy in general are discussed. In addition, students will apply what they have learnt to practical cases in order to consolidate their knowledge and develop solutions. In the project module, students can specialise further in one of the four subject areas on the basis of their own research work or continue the desired breadth as part of a joint project.
Students gain an initial insight into the fundamentals of personnel management / leadership.
