Dive into the fascinating world of metal 3D printing and virtual reality!

Through the "MINT'oVation" project, you have the chance to explore cutting-edge technologies in an engaging and playful way. Our interactive course introduces the fundamentals of metal 3D printing, metal physics, and how to use VR headsets - delivered in a vivid, practical, and immersive virtual environment.

Course Overview

Participation in the course is free and begins with an introductory session (~90 minutes), where you'll get a first-hand glimpse of metal 3D printing and the use of VR headsets, in our case we have Apple Vision Pros. Afterward, you can decide whether you'd like to attend the four additional sessions (each 90 minutes long) to deepen your knowledge and build competencies in these fields (great for job applications and projects!).

Each session kicks off with concise theory modules followed by exciting VR exercises. Playful puzzles and interactive applications will help you apply what you've learned immediately, while the immersive experience enhances your retention.

Certification 

Upon completing all five sessions, you will receive a participation certificate from the dean's office outlining the course content.

Important for people with visual impairment

Please bring contact lenses to the courses, as wearing the VR headset together with your own glasses does not work well.

Location 

The courses take place at Building 16, Room 1097. Each session has a maximum capacity of 10 participants.

When?

Mondays 13:15 - 14:45, Mondays 15:00 - 16:30 and Thursdays 13:15 - 14:45

Registration for the introductory session and follow-up events

Registration is initially binding only for the introductory session. Unless we contact you separately, you will automatically be registered for the date you have entered. After this, you can decide whether you would like to participate on the following days. If you are unable to attend after registering, please inform us in good time by email. If you wish, you can also register for all course units directly. The form for the follow-up events can be found below.

On the right-hand side, below the course instructors, you can view a complete overview of the dates throughout the semester to get a better overview.

Registration for follow-up events

Below, you can register for the four additional course units. You can do this directly or after the introductory event. Please select a date that suits you best for each additional course (lessons II - V). We recommend that you follow the sequence. If you are unable to attend on a particular date, please inform us in advance by email and send us a new date on which you would like to make up the course unit.

In the following, you can register for the follow-up events of the long-term measure. The selection is divided into the lessons II, III, IV, V, so that you can always choose exactly one date and time per course unit. Therefore, always select the date and time that suits you best.
