Mobility, understood as the movement of people and goods, is a defining feature of our modern society. Shaping it in such a way that resources are conserved, systems are intelligently interconnected and safety is enhanced is the focus of the work carried out by researchers in the research and transfer priority area Future-proof Mobility. It is also important to combine technological development with management issues, because smart and sustainable mobility requires the integration of various technologies as well as suitable business models. Digitalisation acts as a ‘facilitator’, helping to realise this integration effectively and efficiently.
