Professor of Economics and International Economic Policy at TUAS Wildau since September 2017. 12 years of professional experience as economist and legal analyst in the Austrian public administration, including positions as advisor for international investment treaties, counsellor for energy, trade and industry at the Austrian Permanent Representation to the OECD, country expert at the OECD, and economic policy expert at the Austrian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Academic background in both economics (Doctor, Witten/Herdecke University, Germany; M.A. equivalent, University of Vienna) and law (LL.M., University of Ottawa; J.D. equivalent, University of Vienna). Teaching and research assistant at the Chair for Institutional and Evolutionary Economics (Prof. Carsten Herrmann-Pillath) at Witten/Herdecke University for 3 years. Course and research scholarships at the University of California at Berkeley, London School of Economics, Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna, and the University of Göttingen.

In my teaching, I try to combine an applied and hands-on approach with establishing solid theoretical foundations. I rely heavily on case studies, often based on cutting-edge online material. Interdisciplinary thinking is encouraged and practised, including collaborative projects with other courses.
