MINT'oVAtion

The project develops virtual and multimedia learning methods for the inclusion and participation of heterogeneous groups in the fields of technology, STEM, and high technology.

German Version

The project “MINT’oVation” aims to make complex STEM theories and practices accessible to interested individuals and lifelong learners through an experiential educational concept that utilizes virtual, audiovisual, and multimedia technologies. This initiative is intended to enhance student success, particularly for those who face challenges in understanding and operating high-tech systems. Within the project, various haptic approaches, as well as virtual and augmented reality, are employed, with a focus on integrating additive manufacturing. The university’s own 3D metal printer plays a central role.

The funding project is designed for a three-year period to establish the developed offerings and formats sustainably within the university and effectively support students throughout their studies. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).

For the period from 2024 to 2027, the following objectives have been defined:

  • Promoting interactive and integrative learning experiences through AR and VR
  • Visualizing complex concepts related to metal 3D printing
  • Motivating young learners to engage with engineering, STEM subjects, and 3D printing technologies through immersive VR experiences
  • Enhancing the accessibility of educational content through supplemented learning with barrier-free materials
  • Fostering competencies and problem-solving skills through 3D modeling and tactile learning
  • Creating a creative and inclusive educational environment through additive manufacturing

What is your level of knowledge?

To optimize the MINT’oVation project for interested individuals and students, we would appreciate it if you could participate in our survey and share your experiences with additive manufacturing and virtual reality (VR) as well as augmented reality (AR).
