InformationOpen areaClose area

In the sixth and seventh semester you have two options, each worth in total 30 CPs:

Option 1: In the sixth semester you will have a semester abroad at one of our partner universities and in the seventh semester you will do an internship abroad for 10 weeks and take part in a module on Empirical Research Methods before writing your thesis.

Option 2: In the sixth semester you will do a 20 week internship abroad and in the seventh semester take the modules International Management in European Contexts II and Empirical Research Methods before writing your thesis.

Students who have acquired their higher education entrance qualification abroad may also complete the internship within Germany. For further information, please contact the European Business Management Director of Studies.

4. Development of Competences

The European Business Management course provides a wealth of opportunities to develop a variety of personal and social competences and skills ranging from team-working, time management, problem-solving, conflict management, business communication skills, intercultural competencies, managing projects and self-reflection. This theme runs throughout the degree programme, providing you with the chance to master these skills at your own pace.

5. Languages

To work in an international business environment, a good knowledge of languages is very much desired. The European Business Management programme is run completely in English but you can also take language courses in German as well as modules run in German. We also offer language courses in French and Spanish as part of the curriculum as well as other languages through our Language Centre. English language courses are also part of the curriculum where we work closely with the content course teachers to provide you with the language necessary to follow and complete these courses successfully and with a deeper, longer-lasting learning effect.

6. Flexibility

One of the key advantages of studying European Business Management is the flexibility inherent in the degree programme that allows you to refine and define your study focus, building up a profile that develops and grows as the course progresses. The flexibility already starts in the foundation course where you can choose which language to focus on. It continues with the wide choice of specializations plus the opportunity to do an interdisciplinary module (currently only available in German - for English description please refer to the module handbook). And there is the choice in the 6th and 7th semesters of either doing an internship abroad and an exchange semester abroad or an internship in any country and the module on International Management in European Contexts.

7. Team of dedicated and experienced teachers

As we are a technical university of applied sciences, we value the experience, expertise and dedication of our teachers who bring their valuable knowledge from practice to the courses they teach and give students the benefit of the knowledge they have from their professional careers. The personal input is of great value and provide the students with the realities of working across a range of industries, companies and countries.

Preparation courses

We recommend checking in good time as to whether it is useful for you to participate in study preparation courses prior to commencing your studies. Online tests in the subjects of mathematics, physics, information technology and technical mechanics will help you come to a decision. Prior knowledge in these subjects is an important basis for various study modules and therefore necessary for the success of your studies in light of past experience.
